About this deal

This is a perfect picture book for all children aged between three and six who love Vikings and watching grown-ups come unstuck! An enjoyable book pitched at a much younger audience than ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ but with the same feel. Great book that shows even the fiercest warrior can get seasick and just because you look tough doesn’t mean you have to act tough all the time. Great book for the little ones, though, especially if they've been introduced to the movies (which are in many ways VERY different than the books). Hiccup, The Viking Who Was Sick is an hilarious, heartwarming tale about a little boy facing his fears and getting to grips with the things he hates the most.

This is where how to train you dragon all started, there is a lovely introduction explaining how the idea all came about. Simpatična pričica koja je svojevrsni prequel knjizi Kako izdresirati zmaja, u kojoj upoznajemo Štucavca dok je još bio mali Viking kojeg je bilo strah ploviti morem. So who will save the day when everything goes disgustingly wrong aboard ship and all the big Vikings lose their cool? I never even knew it started with a picture book, so imagine my surprise when I saw this title from Cassandra Cowell in the picture book section.

It's a sweet read, has some excellent lessons, and makes for an interesting early insight into how Hiccup differs from the rest of the vikings, even as a little boy. She has a BA in English Literature from Oxford University, a BA in Graphic Design from St Martin's and an MA in Narrative Illustration from Brighton. An excellent sequel to How to Train Your Dragon, this highly amusing adventure story with a dash of toilet humour is perfect reading for boys and girls alike aged 8-12. In fact, he was a little timid and worried a lot--and what worried him the most was going to sea for the very first time.

Upon seeing that Vikings can get sick and scared, Hiccup starts to feel better and navigates the ship back home, past many marvelous creatures of the sea. Also the author of picture books, Cressida has won the Nestle Children's Book Prize 2006 and has been shortlisted for many others. Kids do see adults as wise people who are scared of nothing, and it's good for kids to look up to their parents, but it's also good to show them our weakness sometimes.Despite my love for the movies, I've never actually read the HTTYD books before, but I definitely want to. Hiccup, The Viking who was Seasick (also titled Hiccup the Seasick Viking in 2000) is a large book designed for small children. Cute prequel to the How to Train Your Dragon Series; a good book for children who are shy, reluctant, or apprehensive about trying new things, to encourage them to face their fears and gain strength and courage from experiences.

Some may think that children's books are too small, simple, and menial to have an "Art," but that is just not true. I'm so glad I found this little story on YouTube before starting my journey with this series (which I just received in the mail today).I just didn't feel like Hiccup's "fear" of the sea was explored much, even though that was the major plot point, besides being seasick. Hiccup, afraid of going to sea with his heroic viking father, Stoick the Vast, learns all of this from his seafaring adventure. I liked the introduction by Cowell, about how this is what started her crazy journey with the How to Train Your Dragon series.
