Initially oily and mouth coating with juicy and rich orange zest and lemon pith then a bold emergence of black pepper and cardamom, tempered with tapered herbaceous smoothness. Lovely fresh notes of grapefruit and lemon zest, which can be enhanced with a garnish of lemon peel, or complemented with a sprig or rosemary. Holyrood Distillery have created Height of Arrows Gin as a minimalist spirit focused around the excellence of juniper. Drawing on the idea that whisky’s myriad of flavours rely on a handful of ingredients, Height of Arrows is stripped back to the core, featuring juniper, beeswax and salt, lending layers of texture and full bodied flavour to the gin.

Personally I am not a gin drinker, however I am an enthusiastic and attentive host and we had a birthday party at our home yesterday with over 40 adult guests for me to try these two products out on, side by side. Height of Arrows is an elevated gin, distilled by a team of local whisky makers who are dedicated to shaping the spirit of tomorrow.
THE PERFECT GIN GIFT - Heavy’s uniquely sweet and rich character makes it the perfect gift for gin lovers. To create Height of Arrows we have focused our production on gin’s essential botanical, juniper, with each iteration using Juniper in a different way. Whisky has a vast array of flavours and we rely on distillers expertise in using just three ingredients, water, malted barley and yeast. Drawing on the idea that whisky’s myriad of flavours rely on a handful of ingredients, Height Of Arrows rejects the idea of numerous botanical additions. The resulting juniper forward gin is incredibly complex while remaining beautifully smooth to drink. The data collected including the number visitors, the source where they have come from, and the pages viisted in an anonymous form. It demonstrates the influence of our iterative, holistic approach, who we are as distillers, and where we are going as whisky makers. Holyrood was established within a 180-year-old-building that was formerly the goods shed for St Leonard’s railway station. The distillery has been built in an old train shed at the foot of Arthur's Seat and also includes a visitor experience. On the nose, a balance of clean fresh pine and resin coupled with light citrus with orange zest and lemon on the palate. Our Bright expression is multi-shot, a gin distilling technique that concentrates botanical flavour. To create Height of Arrows we employed the same principles, focusing on juniper as our sole botanical only using additional ingredients to intensify flavours and our gin’s texture. As a gin fanatic, it’s a pleasure to sit and taste a brand’s range side-by-side – and Height of Arrows is no exception.
