About this deal

Imagine reading a children book, one of those simplistic ones with many rhymes and pictures to your son/ daughter/ younger sibling. Ich habe selber gemerkt, dass ich einzelne Stellen zwei Mal lesen musste, weil ich zum Beispiel ein Schlüsseldetail überlesen habe. I could almost feel the cold breath of a ghost of two or something out of the corner of my eye as I was reading it.

Started like Gorky Park then when you realise the plot and the reason I thought it all a bit far fetched and silly. Trigger and content warnings for death, especially the death of children, murder, loss of a child, and abduction. Even though I absolutely adore Victoria Schwab, her writing style and the whole ghost story, I had some problems with the whole pacing in this book. This said I really liked Cassidy as a character and I adored and loved her close friendship with Jacob. Lara is an Indian girl who can also move between the worlds of the living and dead, and I really thought we’d see more of her. When Cass's parents start hosting a TV show about the world's most haunted places, the family heads off to Edinburgh, Scotland. As it becomes apparent that the hideous discovery that opens the book, may be in some way related to his previous life, Creed really puts Rossel through the emotional wringer, but never losing sight of the qualities that some of his colleagues regard as ineffectual imbue Rossel with a strength and decency that proves so valuable in this extremely testing investigation. I’m absolutely in love with Jacob and Cassidy, their like partners in crime you want to team up with and go on a ghost hunt. If my life were as aesthetic as Victoria's covers, I would have had an editorial in VOGUE years ago. The first couple references were super adorable and I was hyped to see it, but then it just became a little too redundant for me.

Das Buch bietet direkt einen nicht einfachen Einstieg, da man mit dem grausamen Tatort als Leser vertraut gemacht wird. Excellent book that draws from a piece of history that should be better known, the siege of Leningrad. But i didnt have the connection with it and feels as i have with her adult books which makes sense as this is a different age level as where its written for. If you are an adult reading this don’t expect it to be the next A darker shade of magic because it is not and nor it is supposed to be so. He went on to graduate from Southbank University in London with a 2:1 in politics and since then he has had various jobs in retail, cinema, and telesales and has kept a keen, almost obsessive, interest in current affairs. It was relevant to the series as a whole, but it wasn’t relevant to the specific book, and it ended up bothering me a lot, because there was just no focus on the specific book’s plot. All said this is still a decent thriller with good writing and strong characters who could easily carry a series.
