About this deal

Berghaus is a name synonymous with quality outdoor gear, and we love their tents, waterproof jackets and overtrousers especially. In fact it’s a little too eager to please because it can be a bit of a difficult job to get air out of when packing up. Not a mat but a lightweight sleeping option nonetheless, this lounger makes a great temporary bed for a few nights in the great outdoors. Interestingly, that’s a smaller pack size than the Berghaus Air 10 (reviewed below), but a much heavier weight – higher density foam obviously! This is a self-inflating foam mattress with 5cm of thickness for the central portion and a single flip-valve.

It may be lighter for you to carry two sleeping pads and a lightweight 3-season sleeping bag, rather than a heavy 4-season sleeping bag and a standard mat. We also love the soft-touch upper of the comfort mat, which helps sleeping bags stop sliding off in the middle of the night. One good feature of the Ultim is that both the single and the double SIMs in the range come with clips which enable you to join up multiple SIMs into an enormous bed. If you've treated yourself to an air bed, an air bed pump will help you quickly inflate your air bed without doing all the hard work yourself.Three see-through patches are included to see off any tears and there are poppers on the side so you can attach two mattresses together and create one large sleeping area. This bright yellow mat is very lightweight at 377g, packs down small and offers solid quality, night after night.

However in our mind, using two singles is a preferable option, primarily because of the flexibility on offer. These not only raise you off the ground but provide insulation and help you sleep comfortably all night long. When it comes to camping in the great outdoors, bar bringing in a four poster bed, there really is no better way to kip than on a camp bed. With a sleeping mat under your sleeping bag, the ground will feel more even and create an additional layer of insulation between your body and the ground. I have never had a better nights sleep camping, it doesnt feel like you are sleeping on the floor and is super comfortable easy to use and roll up.It takes time to deflate the mattress to get it back in the bag, but if you're prepared to take the time it's doable. This extra-large self-inflating design can sleep two campers and is fitted with an expanding foam core which not only offers additional support but adds a layer of insulation between you and the ground too. Thermarest use a ‘Stratacore’ construction to achieve this which combines a continuous layer of thermal foam with alternating ridges of air and foam. Dimensions are solid at 200 x 76 x 15cm for the ‘Grande’ size which is slightly wider than a conventional single – we appreciate Vango’s dedication in constantly supplying 200cm (6ft7) length mattresses instead of cutting cost by reducing too much.

We also like that you can attach a Sea to Summit pillow to the mat so that it stays put during the night. The outer material seems strong (30 denier stretch fabric) and it has a flocked texture on the top layer which helps stick your sleeping bag to it – we found that we didn’t slide around on it at all. g. Dometic, Coleman, Vango), but it is their own brand Quechua gear which shows the best cost savings for those on a budget. This double sleeping mat will have you drifting off to sleep on your year-round adventures thanks to its premium construction and intelligent design. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. In fact they probably fit in the final segment we mentioned above whereby they deliver a fantastic overall package. Reviews will give you a great detail of information and with any luck some of the reviews will have provided information about the quality of Berghaus Double Self Inflating Mat. Thanks and don’t forget to drop a comment below if you have any thoughts on our Berghaus Double Self Inflating Mat review. Free yourself from the faff of foot pumps on your next camping holiday with a self-inflating double mat. This air mattress comes with an innovative self inflating valve so making sure it's sleep ready in minutes is not a worry.

The precision-cut foam aids packability, helping reduce the size of the mat when you’re transporting it between home and your tent.

I’ve long been an admirer of Vango inflatable gear and the Comfort 10 follows on a familiar theme of reliability coupled with performance. If you have a bit of time and want to find out more about Berghaus Double Self Inflating Mat after reading the reviews then YouTube is your next stop. If you’re planning on sleeping directly on the floor with either mat or mattress then take note of the ‘R-value’ for any potential purchase.
