About this deal

Amrut mainly uses American white oak casks, but since the distillery has garnered in international reputation and the demand has risen, they have also started to use sherry casks and other types of casks.

Amrut whisky has gained global recognition with a series of awards and accolades and they continue to win over whisky lovers the world over. To retain the natural characteristics of this oak aged Indian Malt Whisky, we do not chill filter, some haze may therefore be noticed in the product. The whisky, under the brand name Amrut Single Malt Whisky, debuted in Glasgow, Scotland on 24 August 2004. The result is a lightly peated whisky with a complex oaky aroma and chocolate fudge sweetness on the palate. With a name that translates as 'thrice', Triparva showcases the experimental zeal of the Bangalore-based Amrut.

The company decided against using computers and automation in their distillery in favour of providing more jobs to people. It is marketed without an age statement and has been matured for approximately four years before it is bottled at 46% abv.

Both unpeated Indian barley and peated Scottish barley are distilled and matured separately in American oak barrels for at least four years before being married together in American oak for a further three months.
